Fall is here, and as a recent occupier of the continental US (again) I am actually experiencing some of the fun things about not being on a tropical island 24-7. Those things of course are few and far between, but the one thing I can enjoy (and every other basic bitch out there can too) is the turn of the season. When summers’s sweet bliss is over, its back to school, back to responsibilities and back to the Holidays. Yes, it is that time of year again you can break out the sweaters and boots, pick up a PSL and post endless insta pics of you expressing just how much this is your favorite time of year. I have admit given my new residence I too am that basic bitch who loves everything about this season.
As they would say in the South, It’s Fall Ya’ll.
I think there’s something about this time of year that everyone inherently loves. It’s not the dead of winter, so you’re not fed up with the weather yet, there’s family gatherings and friendly parties to be attending, there’s a nostalgia in the air that doesn’t ever really go away with age. As I mentioned before, this is my first fall season spent in a place that actually gives you some FALL feels in over 5 years. So, I put the swimsuits away ordered some sweaters and decided to get out and enjoy what the season has to offer.
What I’ve learned so far this Fall….
- You’re never too old for the pumpkin patch! (Even if you don’t have kids–really it’s fine)
My Husband is like a big kid anyway.
2. It’s the perfect time of year for a Wine and Cheese Festival.
And of course some local beers.
3. Tacos are for every season
( From the Soda-City Farmers Market)
4. Playing with your puppy is just as fun in sweaters as it is in Summer clothes
5. I am actually good at homemade soups.

6. Lastly, I’ve inherited a new found fondness of red lipstick.
I’m so basic.
